Opening an Account – Current Members

Current LGE members are able to open additional deposit accounts through online and mobile banking.

Opening an Account – New to LGE

Becoming a member is as simple. To get started, apply online or visit your nearest LGE branch

You must be at least 16 years of age for an individual membership. If you are under 16 years of age, a parent or guardian must be a joint owner on the account.

Before you begin, please ensure that you have the following information available for you and any joint account owners:

  • Physical Address information (P.O. Boxes can be used for mailing purposes but a physical address is required)
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Non-Expired Driver’s License or State Issued ID

You must open a savings account with an initial $5 deposit. This $5 represents your share in the credit union and will remain on deposit as long as you are a member.

All new accounts are verified through ChexSystems and all new account applications are verified by Equifax Financial Services.

Please note, an inquiry to the credit bureau will be submitted for the primary applicant named on the account(s), or the joint owner named on the account(s) in the event the primary applicant is a minor. If you have a freeze on your credit file, you will need to temporarily unfreeze your credit file to apply for membership.
